  1. This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever read. Rather than imposing this new ordinance, why not make some leash laws that involve everyone in the county? not just people living in the city limits. This county is in desperate need of county-wide leash laws. Most of the problems involving dangerous dogs happen outside the city limits where there are no leash laws. What characteristics must a dog exhibit in order to be labeled dangerous? If a dog is protecting his owner and/or his owners property, then he is doing his job. My 125lb German Shepherd is very sweet but I am sure he would attack anyone trying to hurt me or break into my home. If protecting me from harm labels him as dangerous then I guess I own a real “killer”.

  2. So, Jackson county NC, my girlfriend, dog (Am. Staf. Terrier, aka Pit/Basenji), and I are planning a road trip across country later this summer. We’ll be doing some visiting of family in NC, checking out a possible school (WCU), and spending ‘tourist’ dollars of course. Should stay out of your county? I sure as shit ain’t going to keep my dog on a leash 24/7. Is this stupid ordinance still current?
