Maysville, Kentucky Considers “Pit Bull” Ban

From The Ledger Independent:

Maysville is currently in the process of passing an ordinance prohibiting ownership of pit bulls within the city. The ordinance would require any pit bull found within the city after Sept. 1, 2008 to be seized and impounded. A pit bull seized will only be released to an owner producing evidence that the pit bull dog is to be permanently taken out of the city. If such proof is not provided, the pit bull dog would be destroyed.”

Please contact the Maysville Mayor and City Commission and politely inform them that breed bans are ineffective and unenforceable.

  1. this is bull crap not only pitbulls attack people others do to. i have a pit bull and he wouldnt hurt a fly he is a great dog. thats bull shit there banning them in kentucky i live in ft.lauderdale, fl and they banned them in miami which is 25 mins away this is messed up

  2. This is animal discrimination! How could any human being with a heart just point out certain breeds and try to terminate their existence. Is this the type of country that I reside in? Just because these are “reported” breeds that bite or attack doesn’t mean the entire breed gets punished. Maybe the victim provoked the dog. No dog attacks for no reason. Not only that, the owners and people who actually love and care for a pit bull, like myself, gets their hearts broken. I’ve had my pit since he was a puppy and he runs from squirrels! Every new person that pets him on our walks in the park can say sweet things about him, especially small children. How ignorant must out society be? This is definitely not a race issue or anything of that sort. PEOPLE in general misuse and mislead these innocent dogs to behave this way…
