“Pit Bull” saves owner from certain death

Editor’s note: It’s so rare that we get good bully-breed news that I just had to share the article below. There is no love like the unconditional love that pets give us. They really are God’s little guardian angels.  ;-)

From the Peoria Journal Star:

A man [in Spring Bay, Illinois] escaped injury from his burning mobile home after his dog awoke him, fire officials said.

[Fire Chief Dennis Perry] said the home was a total loss…The homeowner, Ralph Cody, told Perry he had fallen asleep with a lit cigarette but that his pit bull woke him up, allowing him to escape, Perry said.

Pet “Pit Bull” Drags Wisconsin Woman to Safety

Cisco, a 102-pound, 4-year-old pit bull, was taken outside to relieve himself at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, by his owner’s girlfriend.

Martha Sorrells was home alone at the time and knew the dog needed to do his duty.

“Pit Bull” Saves Girl From Potential Predator of the Human Kind

“A barking pit bull and an alert neighbor scared off a sex predator in Queens after the pervert lured a girl into a backyard by promising to show her worms, police and witnesses said yesterday.

“Mommy! Daddy!” the 7-year-old girl screamed, as she fought off her attacker between two garages about 7:45 p.m. Friday. “Help me!”

Her cries for help startled a dog on the other side of a fence. Bleu, a mixed pit bull, began barking incessantly, which brought his owner, Heather Beckles, to the window.”

Yet Another Bully Hero

KOKOMO, Ind. – A pit bull named Kadense saved a 70-year-old man from an apartment fire when she started barking, howling and jumping to alert people to the blaze.

Jason McKoon said he saw the dog “flipping out” early Tuesday morning near a door and he knew something wasn’t right. The 19-year-old walked outside to find the whole side of a nearby apartment and shed on fire.
