  1. I am intending to attend this City Council meeting tonight. I have written a letter to Council that I am hoping to read at the council meeting. This piece of legislation that has been proposed is outrageous. I would only be able to take my dogs out of the house on a 4 ft lead with muzzles. They are not allowed to be out in my fenced yard. If anyone else can support this, please do!!

  2. They passed this legislation. Youngstown City Council would not take any comments from anyone because this was a “special meeting”, not a regular city council meeting. They rammed it through with 30 other pieces of legislation.

  3. unbelievable. Is there anything else we can do to prevent this ban other than letters that they probably wont read!!! They will probably have their interns read them. Pleas please, if anyone has other ideas please submit them. I feel bad for my dog she is a mix and is the most friendly dog I or anyone else has ever met. She plays baseball with the kids b/c she know to fetch and plays volleyball by the pool. All the kids that have ever come over our house love and even sleep with the dog. They like our dog better than thier own b/c she is so well behaved. I would have her on the news to prove people wrong, but i am afraid the minute they find out who I am they will come take her away. I am so scared. My world along with our family’s world will be crushed if they took our ladybug away from us. Please lets figure out a way to stop this ban and be heard and educate the public on pitbulls. Not every owner is like michael vick.

  4. I think the city council people have LOST THEIR MINDS!!!! I am the proud owner of a 3 year old American Satffordshire. He is my kid. I don’t have children and everyone that knows me knows that where i go he goes. I don’t want to own a gun to proptect myself in my home, so he is the next best thing. I remember growing up and people would say that german sheppards were vicious, then the pincher, then the rottweiler…now what pit bulls!!! watch out people next Jay will be baning poodles!!!

  5. I think we should swamp the Vindy with letts…fatcs about this breed…the dogs are being punished for what the PEOPLE are doing to it!!

  6. Moderator…no one was allowed to speak at the September 5, 2007 meeting when the legislation was passed. The law went into effect on Saturday, September 15, 2007. People can speak this evening (9/19) at the regular council meeting if they filled out a request form and had it approved. However…the legislation has already been passed.
