Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Considers Banning 11 Breeds

From Local News 8 in Idaho:

“Officials in the northern Idaho city of Coeur d’Alene are considering 22 possible changes in the city’s dangerous dog rules…Possible new rules include banning 11 breeds of dogs and limiting the number of “dangerous breeds” living in one house/Other options include requiring dogs that have bitten someone get training along with their owners.”

Please contact Coeur d’Alene city officials at the address/phone number below and tell them that breed-specific ordinances are unenforceable, ineffective, and have been ruled unconstitutional. No one breed has been scientifically proven to be “dangerous” and therefore municipalities should not be making dangerous breed designations via ordinances which unfairly target some dog owners but not others. Besides, Coeur d’Alene doesn’t have a problem with any one breed. Coeur d’Alene has a problem with Animal Control enforcement which is usually due to lack of staff which will not change if a breed-specific law is passed.

  1. Guess the AR whackjobs are working in the boonies now.

I wonder what breeds this town considers ‘dangerous’? Maybe they are following Dublin’s lead.

When will these people stop announcing their inability to reason to the world?
