Bloomer, Wisconsin Repeals Portion of Breed-Specific Law for “Pit Bulls”

The snippet in the Bloomer Advance was short, but sweet:

The Bloomer City Council amended the Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Animals Ordinance (7-1-9) Wednesday, Oct. 9. Once the amended ordinance takes effect, pit bulls will be allowed in Bloomer if they are registered and examined by a licensed veterinarian.

It’s wonderful that Bloomer will now allow “pit bulls” within city limits.   That’s a great start.   But as long as the city requires that so-called “pit bulls” be registered, there is still breed-specific legislation (BSL) in Bloomer.
